RODEL ADVENTURE LABS について、ご存知の方がいらっしゃいましたら、どなたか、ぜひ教えてください。
もう１年以上前になると思うのですけど、偶然にも instagram を徘徊していて発見し、フォローしました。そのポストに登場する個性的なカラーリングのグラベルバイクたちに魅了され、また、そこに登場するライド写真の数々に魅了されて。

何しろ、そのブランドコンセプトに魅了されてしまう私なのです。「自転車で自分が好きなことやってどんどん楽しもうぜ！」…みたいな、そんな感じ。

それって、やっぱり BOMBTRACK にも共通点があるといいますか、たぶんそういうのが好きなんですね、私。
最初に私の琴線に響いた写真は、確かこれだったと思います。
この個性的なカラーリングデザインに、やられました（笑）。そして、よくよく見てみると、私の BOMBTRACK ARISE-2 2018 と同じリアドロップエンドのフレームパーツが使用されていることが、すぐに分かりました！
このスライディングドロップアウトは、現在の最新モデルでも使い続けられているようです。
この RODEO ADVENTURE LABS 、詳しく知りたいところです。たぶん日本で取り扱ってる代理店などは無いですよね。なので、たぶん日本で入手するのは非常に困難？ 一応、公式ＨＰを見るとセミオーダー的なことはできそうなのですけど。

スペックがどうとか、ジオメトリがどうとか、そんなの関係ありません。理屈ではなく、この感じにすっかり魅了されている私です。

この Flaanimal 5.0 のフレームスペックとか見てみると、日本製の鉄鋼が使われているのですね。なのに日本で入手できないとは…。製造は台湾。
シートチューブとヘッドチューブはカーボンみたいです。フォークもカーボン。前後ともスルーアクスルで、スライディングドロップアウトですからシングルスピードにもできますね。
タイヤクリアランスですが、650B ホイールで 2.4インチ、700C ホイールで 2.0インチ。十分に太いタイヤが使えます。嬉しい！
乗車重量制限がかかっておりまして、113kg ということみたいです。ガッツリ荷物を積んでツーリング…といった用途には不向きですね。
ジオメトリ（size54cm）を見てみますと、まずＢＢドロップが 65mm ということで、ＢＢ高め。ホイールベースも 1032mm ですから、意外と長めであります。
まあ、でも、頭で考えるのではなく、私の感性に呼びかけてくるものがこの RODEO ADVENTURE LABS にはあるのです。それだけで十分じゃないですか！
アスリートを全面にアピールしてくる大手ブランドが多いですが、この RODEO ADVENTURE LABS は、もっと普通の自転車好きの連中が楽しく遊んでる様子が最高なのです！

We’re calling this build The Sheldon in honor of the guy who dreamt up this build spec. One day while looking at our parts stock Sheldon grabbed the beautiful 12 speed XT bits and started thinking about building a drop bar bike around them. This isn’t possible using conventional components because Shimano reserves 12 speed for its flat bar MTB line. Why that is we have no idea because it’s a beautiful groupset and ideal for adventure bikes. In order to run it on a drop bar bike a suitable front chainring needed to be made because Shimano doesn’t make 12 speed compatible chainrings in gravel appropriate sizes. Nobody did, actually, until 2020 when @praxisworks updated their rings to be compatible with Shimano 12 speed. Boom! But what about the shifter? Sheldon had to go to @microshiftofficial for that. They make a perfectly compatible bar end shifter for Shimano 12 speed. Huzzah! That leaves breaking duties to the wonderful @trpcycling Hylex RS levers and calipers. And just like that you have a wide range drop bar mechanical group set that can handle anything from road riding to bikepacking. We hung all of this goodness on a Flaanimal 4.1 covered in Cerakote. We completed the build with @pnwcomponents , @eastoncycling, @brooksengland, and @wildernesstrailbikes. Naturally we used our Rodeo 2.0 carbon rims. When we added up the cost it came to $4,700, but we can let this one go for $4,250 because it’s a one-off proof of concept. Size 54cm. What’s even better is that we’ve used this thinking to create an incredibly performance + value minded Flaanimal 5.0 / SLX 12 speed build which totals out at $3099. Yes, we can build one of the most capable framesets on the market into a massively capable adventure steed for about 3k. We get a lot of people who say “I wish I could afford your bikes” and we’re happy to make them just a bit more within reach without making them less rad.
